Girlfriend Eats Necklace Hidden In Muffin

Talk about getting down on the muffin!  A lovey dovey gesture went completely wrong when a woman in China swallowed a $780 gold necklace that was put into a muffin by her boyfriend.

Xaio Li placed the necklace in the muffin for her birthday according to the Orange UK.   He explains, quote:

"I thought it would show how much I love her and it would be a good joke too, but before I could say anything she'd swallowed it in one bite and I had to tell her the truth on the way to hospital."

Doctors performed surgery to remove the necklace, but Li doubts she will wear it now.  Oh well, the only bonus for the boyfriend is at least he know she swallows!
