Michigan has seen a wide variety of temperatures on St. Patrick's Day throughout the years.

Michiganders never know what they are going to get when it comes to the weather on St. Patrick's Day. Unfortunately, this year, it looks like most of Michigan will see cloudy skies and temperatures in the mid-40s for everyone's favorite drinking holiday.

When it comes to the hottest and coldest temperatures for St. Patrick's Day in Michigan history, the highs and lows are extremely far apart. According to extremeweatherwatch.com, temperatures around the state have dropped below zero and have been in the 80s.

Highest and Lowest Temps Recorded on St. Patrick's Day in Michigan

When it comes to the highest temperatures ever recorded in Michigan, it looks like Traverse City is the leader of the pack reaching 82 degrees on St. Patrick's Day back in 2012. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Petosky, MI saw a bitter 10 degrees below zero in 1916.

In 2012, Michigan saw historic high temperatures throughout the state. I will never forget that year. We put together a St. Patrick's Day pub crawl and bus trip that year and the weather was absolutely beautiful. It was so awesome to have drinks on multiple patios in March during that trip.

With such amazing weather earlier this week, I was really hoping we would see another record-breaking year. However, that is not going to happen. Either way, I was able to go golfing in March this year, which obviously doesn't happen too often in this state. I'll call that a win.
