10 Illegal Baby Names In Michigan
Attention expecting parents in Michigan. If you are trying to decide on a name for your baby, you can take these ten names off of your list.
Not only are these 10 baby names illegal in the Great Lakes State, but they are illegal in the United States, period.
Chances are none of the forbidden names were on your list of possible baby names (at least we hope so).
To be clear, it is not against the law to give a child a unique name. One of my sisters is named Tuesday. Anthony Kedis of the Red Hot Chili Peppers named his son Everly Bear and Penn Jillette, of Penn & Teller fame, has a daughter named Moxie Crimefighter.
There may not be 'birth certificate police' at the hospital when you deliver your new bundle of joy, but you will never get away with naming your kid the following illegal baby names according to U.S. Birth Certificates website,
- King
- Queen
- Jesus Christ
- III
- Santa Claus
- Majesty
- Adolf Hitler
- Messiah
- @
- 1069
Most likely you were already marked safe from ever wanting to give a child any of the above names anyway. There are plenty of unique options if you want something different for your baby's name, without being cruel and offensive.
If you love holidays, Santa Claus is off the table for a name, but Halloween and St. Patrick's Day are not.
Just kidding, do not name your baby St. Patrick's Day.
