The Shift to Contracted School Bus Services

School bus drivers are an essential and valued part of any community. Years ago, school districts owned, operated, and maintained their own bus garages. Today, many local school districts contract those services to private companies. For a while, First Student operated the district’s bus fleet, but that contract has now gone to Dean Transportation.

Hiring Event Details

Dean is hosting hiring events this week, specifically seeking drivers for Fenton and Linden schools. The next event, featuring on-the-spot interviews, takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 3200 Donaldson Drive in Fenton. Offering both full- and part-time positions, bus drivers could start at $24 per hour with weekly pay and a sign-on bonus.
