The Jim Henson Exhibition: Imagination Unlimited is coming to Michigan for a three-month run this summer.

The exhibit which explores Jim Henson's life, as well as his film and television work will be located inside the Gallery by General Motors at The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation in Dearborn. The exhibition will run from Saturday, June 5 through September 6.

Muppets that will be featured at the exhibit

The interactive exhibit will feature over 20 puppets, including Kermit the Frog, Grover, Ernie, Bert, Count von Count, Beautiful Day Monster, Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, Beaker, Scooter, the Country Trio, Jen and Kira from The Dark Crystal, Aughra, Red Fraggle, Wembley Fraggle, Wilkins and Wontkins as well as the two Pitchman Pumps.

What else to expect

According to MLive, the exhibition will take an in-depth look at how Henson and his team of builders, performers and writers brought to life the worlds of “The Muppets,” “Sesame Street,” “Fraggle Rock,” “The Dark Crystal,” “Labyrinth” and more.

There will also be handwritten scripts to view, set models and storyboards, costumes, behind-the-scenes footage, and interactive experiences where you can design puppets and try puppeteering on camera.

The Jim Henson Exhibition: Imagination Unlimited is free with membership or admission to the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation, which is $25 per person (general admission). For more information regarding the exhibit, tickets, and memberships visit
