Kentucky Dog Missing for Three Years Turns Up in Michigan [VIDEO]

He may look a little older today, but Callie has been reunited with his long-lost owner and both of them couldn't be happier.

Callie showed up in Southwest Michigan nearly three years after he went missing from his Kentucky home. His owner, Venes Mosier couldn't believe it when she got the call from Cass County Animal Control.

“I was kind of shocked because I was like, ‘No way!’ because it’s been three years,” Mosier told WOOD-TV.

Mosier says she was hospitalized just before Christmas in 2017. During her stay in the hospital, her home was broken into and her three dogs went missing.

“They pretty much wiped me out, literally. I came home to a sofa and a few kitchen items,” she said.

Mosier was reunited with one of the pooches about a year later, one is still missing, and she says she had basically given up any hope of seeing Callie again.

According to WOOD-TV, Mosier spends much of her time at home because of an autoimmune deficiency. She helps train rescue dogs for veterans in her area.

Ronald Butts, a representative of the Cass County Animal Control department says he's never seen anything like this in 25 years. Butts noted that he has no idea how Callie made it to Michigan.

“She was in great condition, and obviously somebody had been taking care of her,” Butts said.
