Labatt Creates Exclusive Michigan Hard Seltzer
Pure Michigan cool.
Labatt has created a Michigan exclusive hard seltzer - Labatt Blue Light Black Cherry Seltzer Lemonade. The cherry flavor is a salute to Michigan cherries, and according to the Detroit Free Press, each box features a picture of the Manistee North Pierhead Lighthouse on Lake Michigan.
So why Michigan? I found the answer to that question via WOOD-TV and Labatt Brand Director, Janine Schoos. According to Ms. Schoos, Michigan is a huge state for Labatt sales, as in the second largest market in the the Untied States. Right on Michiganders - drink big or go home.
Each Michigan inspired seltzer is 5% alcohol and 100 calories. Hard seltzer is not my go to drink of choice, but I am totally intrigued by this one. I like the fact that this drink is exclusive to our state. It just makes it special, don't you think?
If you are interested in taste testing as well, we do not have to wait long. Labatt Blue Light Black Cherry Seltzer Lemonade 12-packs will be in stores this week, and available all summer long.
If you enjoy a theme party like I do, here is an idea - a Pure Michigan party featuring all Michigan made food and drinks. I am sure the following items will pair nicely with this new Michigan seltzer,
- Better Made Chips
- Detroit Style Pizza
- Pasties
- Frankenmuth Chicken (Bavarian Inn, Zehnder's)
- Vernors
- Mackinac Island Fudge
- Faygo
- Halo Burger
- Craft Beer (Tenacity Brewing, Bells Brewery)
- Coney Dogs (serve the curve with Koegel's)
I think you get the idea. Here is to a great summer of Michigan food, drink, and fun!
