A Macomb County high school principal is facing scrutiny over his handling of a situation involving racist graffiti.

On Monday, April 15, 2025, graffiti containing racial slurs was discovered at Lakeview High School. Two separate pieces of graffiti were found, both of which included the 'N' word.

However, that piece of information was not included in an email that went out to parents.

According to Detroit Metro Times, Lakeview High School Principal Scott Kapala failed to mention specifics about the graffiti, and the school is now apologizing.

In response to Principal Kapala not revealing how horrible the graffiti was to parents, the Lakeview School District issued a statement that included the following,

The high school principal’s email to LHS families failed to communicate this issue properly, and it did not represent the position of Lakeview Public Schools.

The graffiti was taken down, and police were called. According to CBS News Detroit, an investigation is underway.

Here's hoping the guilty party or parties are identified. Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to contact the St. Clair Shores Police Department at (586) 445-5300.

Since the awful graffiti was done over the weekend, it could have been anyone, not necessarily a student or students from Lakeview High School. Whoever you are, you should be ashamed of yourself.

I'm not familiar with the area around the school, but hopefully, some cameras may have captured anyone in the vicinity over the weekend.

I look forward to following up on this article with news of the arrest of whoever was behind this.

This home/former school in the Upper Peninsula will only set you back $160,000 but is super creepy. However, it seems pretty zombie apocalypse ready.
