End Of An Era As Papa John’s Closes In Lansing
Papa John's in Lansing, Michigan, abruptly closed its doors after over 40 years in business.
Headlines about the permanent closure of this specific Papa John’s location led to confusion regarding the status of the overall franchise.
The closed Papa John’s location on Michigan Avenue was independently operated and not connected to the official franchise.
According to WLNS 6 News, workers at the location were caught off guard by the sudden closure, as they were not informed in advance, leaving them without time to prepare for the unexpected job loss.
Hopefully, everyone affected by the closure can find a new job soon.
This isn’t the first restaurant to close in Michigan in 2025. Earlier this year, Bar Louie shut down two of its locations in the state, one in Livonia and another in Auburn Hills
Hooters has also pulled out of Flint and Taylor, shutting down both locations. Now, the only place you will find a Hooters in Michigan is in Saginaw.
Do you live in the Lansing area? Was Papa John's a business you would frequent? Unfortunately, I never had the pleasure of enjoying Papa John's in Lansing. From everything I am reading after the news broke of its closing, it seems the food was awesome.
I truly feel for the employees who are now left without a job, it’s never easy to face that kind of sudden change. At the same time, I can only imagine that the decision to close the business after more than 40 years wasn’t made lightly. It must have been incredibly difficult for the owners, given the long history and deep ties to the community.
