Lapeer Business Owner Pays Off School Lunch Debt
This is way cool, considering the fact that restaurants have suffered financially for the past 11 months.
A Lapeer East graduate and Woodchips BBQ owner Patrick Hingst, paid off lunch balances for Lapeer Community school students. How awesome is that? The exact amount really doesn't matter ($1300+). What matters is Hingst stepped up, and that speaks volumes. Lapeer County schools had this to say about the generous gesture,
“It was a random of act of kindness from Patrick Hingst. Patrick has been the owner of one of our great downtown restaurants for many years. Patrick has done so many random acts of kindness in our community, they are hardly random anymore. We are truly grateful for his generosity and we hope this inspires others to pay it forward during this very challenging time.”
According to ABC 12, Patrick Hingst is not done giving back either. Hingst plans on helping out other local school districts, and has another plan in motion involving a monthly community meal. Those details are still be worked out, but I will pass the information along when it is made available.
Shout out to Patrick for continuing to invest in the Lapeer Community. You can show your appreciation too by checking out Woodchips BBQ. Grab food to go, or dine in. You can check out the complete menu here.
If you hear of random acts of kindness like this in our community, please pass it along to me. I love having the opportunity to shine a light on something positive. Have a great weekend, and be sure to try Woodchips BBQ.
