Update 4/12/23: Don't miss Frame 42 at The Machine Shop on Friday, May 19th. You can get your tickets here for only $10 in advance, or at Paradise Express in Flint.

Lapeer's own Frame 42 has dropped a new song called 'Thicker Than Blood' (listen below).

The band is once again working with super producer Toby Wright on their upcoming album. Metallica, Alice In Chains, Sevendust, and Korn are just a few of the bands that Wright has worked with.

I had the opportunity to talk to Frame 42 lead singer, Ava Morris, about 'Thicker Than Blood', the band's upcoming EP, working with Toby Wright again, and more.

Where can people hear 'Thicker Than Blood'?

The first single, 'Thicker Than Blood' will be available on all of the primary social media streaming services, such as iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, and Hear Now. CDs will be available on our Frame 42 website after our self-titled EP release.

When will the EP be released?

The EP will be released in May 2023.

How was it getting back into the studio with Toby Wright?

We’re very excited to be working with Toby again on this new project! We’re always evolving our sound and are extremely proud of what we’ve come up with for this new record.

What is the story behind 'Thicker Than Blood'/

'Thicker Than Blood' is a really cool song about loving someone after they’re gone, something that I think a lot of people resonate with.

I got the idea for the lyrics while driving by a restaurant with my friend. I saw a guy and a girl share an awkward hug and go their separate ways. I started to create stories in my head about what could have happened between the two of them and wrote lyrics around them.

They ended up fitting perfectly with the instrumental behind what would come to be known as ‘Thicker Than Blood’.

Thank you so much, Ava and Frame 42 for sharing the new single with us. We love it and we love you guys.

Don't miss Frame 42 at The Machine Shop on May 19th.
