4-Year-Old Found at the Bottom of Hotel Pool in Livonia
Another heartbreaking tragedy involving a young child and a hotel pool is now under investigation in Michigan, and unfortunately, it feels a little too familiar.
What Happened at the Livonia Hotel Pool?
According to WXYZ, a 4-year-old child drowned Wednesday night at the pool inside the Embassy Suites in Livonia. The child was found around 7 p.m. at the bottom of the pool. Emergency crews were called, but the child didn't survive.
Police Investigating Who Was Supervising Child at Livonia Hotel Pool
Police say the child was visiting their father at the time. What is still unclear is where the father or any other adults were when the child went into the pool area. Investigators are now trying to piece together who was supposed to be watching the child and how this was able to happen.
What makes this especially hard to process is how similar it sounds to another case we just saw in Michigan recently.
A Similar Child Pool Drowning Happened Recently in Oakland County
And unfortunately, this is not the first time we’ve seen this happen. Just a couple of weeks ago, a 4-year-old drowned at an athletic club pool in Oakland County while adults were in the restaurant and bar area.
Different places. Different details. Same awful outcome.
Pools are not something you can step away from, even for a few minutes. And in both of these cases, that reality ended in the worst possible way.
Police are still working through the Livonia investigation.
