Is Long John Silver’s Rebuilding in Flint Township After 2022 Fire?
It looks like Long John Silver's might be returning to Genesee County.
In February of 2022, Long John Silver's on Linden Road in Flint Township was completely destroyed by a massive fire. The fire was so out of control that departments from Flint Township, Mount Morris Township, Burton, Grand Blanc, Swartz Creek, and Mundy Township all responded.
Sadly, that was the last remaining Long John Silver's in Genesee County. If you remember, Long John Silver's on Pierson Road in Mount Morris Township was also destroyed by a fire back in 2019.
Is Long John Silver's Rebuilding in Flint Township?
After the 2022 fire, we thought that was it, the end of Long John Silver's in Genesee County. Well, we were wrong.
This week I drove by what used to be an empty lot where Long John Silver's used to sit and I noticed some activity. There were construction workers hammering away on the rough frame of a building. I'm not going to lie, I got pretty excited.
I thought that maybe something different was being built but the Long John Silver's sign was still standing tall. So, I made a couple of calls and found out that they are in fact rebuilding Long John Silver's.
When Will the Construction Be Completed?
As of right now, there is no information on when the construction will be completed or when they plan on reopening. Hopefully, it will be sometime this year or early 2024.
Bring on those hush puppies.
