The Machine Shop in Flint has been called the World Famous Machine Shop for years, and it’s not just hype. This is a pretty good example of why.

Plenty of fans will tell you it’s one of the best concert venues anywhere. Hell, I’ll tell you it’s the best venue. But hearing that from someone who has played stages all over the world hits a little different.

During a behind-the-scenes interview (see below) at Download Festival in the UK, Lzzy Hale from Halestorm dropped a huge compliment, saying her favorite venue in the world is none other than The Machine Shop in Flint.

Why Do So Many Rock Bands Love The Machine Shop in Flint?

Lzzy isn’t the first rock star to rave about The Machine Shop, either. For nearly 25 years, artists have talked about the energy, the crowd, the vibe, and how there really isn’t another venue quite like it.

A big part of that starts with owner Kevin Zink. From the way he runs the venue to the way he treats both fans and artists, Kevin has built something special in Flint that musicians genuinely respect.

Sometimes we take The Machine Shop for granted because it’s right here in our backyard.

But every once in a while, an artist says something like this, and it reminds us just how special that place really is.

It also reminds us how lucky we are to have a venue like this right here in Flint, Michigan.
