Mark Farner's American Band is set to rock Lapeer weekend. The Flint, Michigan born musician will be performing two nights at the historic Pix Theatre.

Tickets are still available for Friday, Septemeber 24th and Saturday, Septemeber 25th. Showtime for both nights is 8:00 PM. There will be no opening act, so be sure to plan accordingly so you don't miss one minute of the show.

Both performances will be special and rare acoustic shows, which I absolutely love. Talk about one hell of show at one of hell of a venue. An up close and intimate evening with one of rock musics all time greats.

A few years ago I had the opportunity to talk with Mark Farner prior to a show at the Capitol Theatre in Flint. Talk about a dream come true. I am still in awe of the fact that I sat with him on the Capitol stage and talked about his love of performing for veterans and the fact that 'I'm Your Captain (Closer To Home) is his favorite Grand Funk Railroad song. You can check out a video from our conversation below.

If you are planning on attending one of the shows, I can tell you this. Tickets are limited for the Saturday show so act fast, there are more tickets available for tomorrow nights show. You can get your tickets at the Pix Theatre box office downtown Lapeer, online or  at Dave Knapp Used Cars on North Lapeer Road in Lapeer.

Do not miss this opportunity to see a true music legend.
