Megadeth Set 2012 ‘Gigantour’ Dates With Motorhead, Lacuna Coil, And Volbeat

After being on the biggest metal bill of this year with The Big 4, Megadeth will embark on what could the biggest of 2012 with 'Gigantour'.

Megadeth have been very forward about their plans for next year's 'Gigantour,' announcing their intent to tour with Motorhead, Lacuna Coil, and Volbeat very casually during an interview -- whereas most would have hyped the announcement for a tour of this magnitude.

The band released their new record 'TH1RT3EN' this week, the album is already on pace to sell 40 - 45,000 units in it's first week -- an amount that on an average week would top the charts, but with other major metal acts like Metallica and Slipknot releasing albums this week -- you never know.

Megadeth started Gigantour in 2005, the tour usually features multiple metal bands and happens every couple of years when Megadeth is touring behind their current release. Past supporting acts have included Lamb of God, Dream Theater, Anthrax, and Static-X. This will be Lacuna Coil's second appearance on Gigantour, all the other supporting acts are new to the traveling festival.
