Meijer has announced that they will invest $375 million to build new and remodel current stores in the midwest. Investing in the Michigan, Indiana, and Wisconsin stores will end up creating 2,100 new jobs in those areas.

Seven new Meijer superstores will be built including one in Escanaba and one in Sault Ste. Marie.

Meijer's President & Chief Executive Officer Rick Keyes stated...

“These projects represent an investment in our customers, team members and the local communities that have supported us for so long...We’re also excited that at long last we’ll cross the bridge and open our first stores in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.”

Six other stores in Michigan will be updated throughout the process as well. See their full press release and details here.
