MHSAA Allows Limited Number of Fans at Final Football Games
With playoff games yet to be played in Michigan, a limited number of fans will be allowed to attend.
The Michigan High School Athletic Association has announced that some fans will be able to attend the remaining football and volleyball games left to be played. High school football teams will be given 125 tickets each and volleyball teams will be given 50 tickets each. Those tickets can then be used for the immediate family of players and available on the GoFan digital ticket system.
This is a great but small step for fans and parents of the teams as the MHSAA had previously prohibited any spectators. Michigan high school football teams will return to play this weekend for the regional finals and state semifinals. Volleyball teams will return to the quarterfinals on Tuesday, January 12th. Fans that attend and that are not living in the same household are asked to wear a face-covering at all times and sit six feet apart.
Unfortunately, spectators will still not be allowed for the swimming and diving state finals, which take place on January 15th and January 16th. Don't worry though, if you are not allowed to attend, there are still other ways you can catch the action. The swimming, diving, and volleyball events will be streamed on the Michigan High School Athletic Association website here. As for the state finals for high school football, those games will be broadcast on FOX Sports Detroit for fans to see.
It has definitely been a rough year for high school athletes and I am so happy that they all can finish the season!
