A woman in Ypsilanti took to brave measures to try and stop shoplifters at a local Lowe's Home Improvement store.

On Monday afternoon, three men made their way into the Lowe's Home Improvement store on Carpenter Road in Ypsilanti. Soon after arriving, the men grabbed some power tools and took off running. With the alarms going off and many people causing a commotion, the story took a scary twist.

While attempting to stop the men from fleeing, a woman that witnessed the crime decided to do something very dangerous. As the suspects were trying to leave the area in their vehicle, she jumped on the hood and held on. The suspects were able to get her off the vehicle and she was struck by the car as they ran. The woman refused treatment at first and later went to the hospital as a precaution.

Police were able to locate the vehicle, but determined that the owner was not involved in the theft. The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made yet.
