Warning: This Free Perk at Michigan Airports Could Put You in Danger
When traveling, many Michigan airports offer perks to make your trip easier, such as free Wi-Fi, baggage carts, shuttle services, and comfortable waiting areas. But there is one free convenience you might want to think twice about before using it.
It seems even the simplest conveniences these days put us at risk, especially when it comes to our personal security and finances.
For example, how many times have you been at the airport and realized your phone battery was running low? Happens all the time, right? No big deal. Thankfully, airports have charging stations everywhere. Well, not so fast.

You might want to think twice before plugging your phone into one of those handy little charging ports. What seems like a simple fix could end up being a really bad idea.
Why You Should Never Plug Your Phone Into Public Charging Stations
According to Malwarebytes, the FBI actually advises against using public charging stations, including the ones at airports, malls, and coffee shops, because of a thing called "juice jacking."
At this point, I'm sure you know where we're going with this.
What is Juice Jacking?
Simply put, Juice Jacking is a sneaky way hackers can steal your info through public charging stations.
We don't need to get into the technical side of things. You just need to know that when you plug your phone into those public charging stations, you're opening the door to your information. Those lowlife hackers can get in there and steal your data, mess with your phone, or even install stuff you definitely didn’t ask for.

The best thing you can do is just bring a personal charging bank with you. That way, you’re not relying on some sketchy public port that could mess with your phone.
