This Michigan City is One of the Most Rat Infested in the Country

The infestation of rats is becoming a significant problem across the country. While the state of Michigan isn't the worst rat-infested state, there is one major city that is considered one of the worst in the country.

Orkin's most recent data shows the cities across America that are the most rat-infested. The data collected is from from September 1, 2021, to August 31, 2022. The cities ranked were based on the number of new rodent treatments performed during that period.

The pest company has yet to release data from 2023.

What Michigan City Made the Top 10 List?

The data collected found that Detroit is the 9th worst city in America when it comes to its rat infestation. That's a nice drop from last year. I'm sure that isn't shocking news to Michiganders. According to CBS News, Detroit spends up to $300,000 a year on rat-elimination efforts, including handing out free poison traps to residents.

Grand Rapids jumped from #32 to #31, while Flint dropped six spots and landed at #40.

It's obvious Chicago has a major problem as they landed at #1 for the 8th year in a row.
