Getting pulled over by the police is the worst feeling, especially when you don't know why it's happening. Your heart starts pounding, your hands get sweaty, and you’re left wondering what you did wrong.

The only thing that makes it worse is when you find out you're getting a ticket for the dumbest thing possible. Something that was 100% preventable.

However, if you’re one of those people who refuse to do one simple thing every time you get in your car, well… you pretty much deserve it.

I'm sure you know where we're going with this.

So here’s the deal: Later this month, Michigan law enforcement will kick off their annual “Click It or Ticket” campaign. That means you'll see more police on the roads looking for anyone not wearing a seatbelt.

Who doesn’t wear a seatbelt in 2025? I mean, it’s literally the easiest way to protect yourself. Plus, nearly every car on the road has that annoying ding that won’t stop until you buckle up. Your car practically screams at you until you click it in. And yet, somehow, some people still roll without it. Maybe they think they’re invincible, or it’s “just a quick trip,” or they’re too distracted to care.

I couldn’t tell you the last time I got into a car and didn’t put my seatbelt on. Well, apparently, enough people are still fighting it that police have to dedicate half the month to cracking down on those drivers.

When Does Michigan’s Click It or Ticket Campaign Start?

According to ABC 12, from May 19 until June 1, police across the state will focus on seat belt enforcement.
