Yes, you can social distance and still enjoy the outdoors. That's why the Michigan Department of Natural Resources is waiving admission fees to get into all state parks right now, in light of the COVID-19 outbreak.
And in case you were wondering, YES - it's safe to go to a park. It's safe to hike or take a walk with your kids. However, if a crowd starts to form, break off and find your own space.
I absolutely plan on taking a hike with my son and my dog this weekend and I highly suggest that you do, too.
