Have You Been To Michigan’s Most Fascinating Restaurant?
One of Michigan’s most unique restaurants draws visitors from across the state and beyond.
Turns out, this one-of-a-kind restaurant was recently recognized as the most fascinating in the state.
When I saw Love Food’s list of the most fascinating restaurants in every state, my Michigan pick was instantly Frankenmuth’s Bavarian Inn.
As it turns out, I was correct. According to Love Food, the Bavarian Inn is Michigan's most fascinating restaurant.
Was that your first guess too, or did another Michgian spot come to mind?
Bavarian Inn has been serving family-style chicken dinners and more in Frankenmuth since June of 1959. In 2025, the tradition remains strong and continues to thrive.
This is what Love Food had to say about the iconic Bavarian Inn in Frankenmuth,
This Germanic-style town reflects the area's German roots. The main reason to head here is for the Bavarian Inn, where the traditionally dressed waiting staff serve up family-style dinners of fried chicken, noodle soup, and wiener schnitzel, often to the sound of a toe-tapping polka band.
I’m also a fan of the wait staff uniforms; they certainly add to the fun of the dining experience.
I remember my first visit to the Bavarian Inn as a kid - I felt like we had stepped into a time machine. Total Bill & Ted vibes, before their Excellent Adventure even existed.
Congrats to the Bavarian Inn on being named Michigan's most fascinating restaurant. You can see the entire list here.
