Michigan Father Killed After Daughter Touched Neighbor’s Mulch
A Michigan man is behind bars after being accused of murdering one of his neighbors in a strange dispute involving mulch.
While this story is really hard to comprehend, we'll do our best to explain what happened. When we say it's hard to comprehend, we mean it's hard to understand how someone could do such an awful thing.
According to MLive, Devereaux Christopher Johnson, 47, of Canton, is accused in the murder of Nathan Morris, 35, of Canton.
Nathan Morris was taking his family for a walk this past Saturday when his daughter touched some mulch that was in the yard of one of their neighbors. The neighbor allegedly pulled out a gun and began threatening the family. Morris sent his family home, saying he would try to defuse the situation.
At some point, while trying to defuse the situation, Johnson allegedly shot Morris multiple times. Morris was transported to a hospital but was pronounced dead.
It's a sad world we live in when you can't even take your family for a walk on a beautiful Saturday morning without something so tragic happening. I mean, this was an unarmed man who was shot and killed over his daughter simply touching their neighbor's mulch.
It's too bad, Morris didn't leave with his family instead of trying to defuse the situation. Sometimes it's just best to walk away.
Johnson faces charges of first-degree murder, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and two counts of felony firearm possession.
Like I said, the whole thing is really hard to comprehend.
