It’s time to bust out the shorts and fire up the BBQ, well, almost. Michigan is in for a warm-up next week and after the bitter cold we just endured, it’s going to feel like a full-blown heat wave.

This winter has been a bit more brutal compared to the last few mild Michigan winters. It’s been colder than usual, and we’ve definitely seen more snow than we have in quite some time. You have to admit, we were due.

Okay, I might have been exaggerating when I said it’s time to bust out the shorts, but with the warm-up coming next week, you’ll definitely feel the difference.

Major Heat Wave in Michigan Next Week

We’re not saying it’s going to feel like spring, but when temps hit the mid-40s, we’ll all be doing the happy dance. If things stay on track, we’re looking at 40-degree weather on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday next week. Sure, there’ll be some rain and snow mixed in, but hey—40 degrees? We’ll take it.

Six months ago, we would have been complaining about 40 degrees, but after dealing with temps below zero, it's going to feel pretty nice.

March is right around the corner, which means Daylight Saving Time and spring will be here before you know it. In fact, we spring forward on Sunday, March 9.

The first official day of spring is Thursday, March 20, 2025.

So enjoy the ‘heat wave’ while it lasts because let’s be real, Mother Nature isn't done with us yet.
