10 Jobs in Michigan That May Completely Disappear by 2030
Times are changing and some jobs just are not going to survive.
The job landscape in Michigan and across the country has really changed over the last 30 years. With new technology and inventions, many companies are able to automate and/or cut back on the number of employees needs to complete a task.
Improved technology and the internet are giving consumers and employers more options than ever before to acquire and produce products. Unfortunately, those advancements also eliminate jobs for workers in the state and country.
While searching through the internet, I came across a number of articles naming jobs that will disappear by the year 2030. Many of the entries were the same in those articles and of course, those occupations are available in Michigan.
Some of them make complete sense. Others on the list though had me a bit curious as to how they would disappear. One example of that would be a sports referee or umpire. I had no idea that major sports leagues were already experimenting with different ways to referee games. Careeraddict.com used the example of FIFA. Apparently, FIFA is experimenting with goal-line technology that would allow for the use of a VAR system, or video assistant referee system. I guess I need to see that in action to understand it fully.
Other jobs on the list make perfect sense as AI, apps, online shopping, automation systems, and more make it very easy for companies to replace actual human beings.
I'm not going to lie. To me, the future is both fascinating at terrifying at the same time. It's only a matter of time before Skynet becomes self-aware.
