Michigan’s Largest Lavender Farm Is Closing for Good

If you've ever driven through Lapeer County and spotted rows and rows of purple flowers, you know exactly where I'm talking about.

Indigo Lavender Farms in Imlay Township has been around for years and has quietly become one of Michigan's most unique places to visit. Whether you stopped by to pick your own lavender, shop for candles and soaps, snap some photos, or even pop the question, it's been the backdrop for a lot of special memories.

Now, the Dennis family says it's time to turn the page.

When Is Indigo Lavender Farms in Imlay City Closing?

According to MLive, Indigo Lavender Farms will permanently close at 5 p.m. on August 15 as they retire to spend more time with their family.

The good news is they're staying open until then, so there's still time to make one last visit. They also say to keep an eye out for discounts over the next few weeks as they wrap things up.

If you've never been before, it's actually pretty impressive. It's the largest lavender farm in Michigan, with around 14,000 lavender plants spread across roughly 50 acres. It's honestly a pretty cool place to spend an afternoon.

Will Weddings Still Be Held at Indigo Lavender Farms?

One thing people were asking right away was about weddings already booked at the farm.

Thankfully, the closure won't affect any existing wedding or event reservations, so couples already planning to get married there won't have to scramble to find a new venue.
