A new survey reveals how much Michigan parents spend per kid at Christmas. The number is staggering.

I do not have kids, so maybe the number is not as high as I think. Michigan parents can be the judge, however, I have a feeling quite a few of you will agree.

That said, Michigan parents are not paying the most per kid this Christmas. That title goes to New Jersey. Parents in the Garden State spend (on average) $712 per kid. Seriously?

Coupon Birds claims the survey revealed that  9% of parents in the United States will spend over $1000 per child.

So how much are Michigan parents spending per kid this holiday season? The survey says $588 per child. Am I crazy to think that is high?

Take a look at what (on average) parents are spending on Christmas 2024 below.

As you can see, no state is spending less than $247 per child this year. I get spending more on just one child, but what about families with multiple kids? Christmas can break the bank.

If you are a Michigan parent, does spending $588 per child seem accurate, or perhaps you spend even more?

Where is Santa Claus when you need him? I am guessing most kids don't grasp the concept of - it's the thought that counts.

Good luck parents. It sounds like you are going to need it.
