Michigan Picked as One of the Next States to Legalize Marijuana

Michigan has been selected as one of the “most likely” states to legalize marijuana by 2017.

According to a new report by the consulting firm Anderson Economic Group, the Great Lake State has one of the best market potentials in the United States for selling weed, giving way to the distinct possibility that the state will be gearing up for this new industry within the next year.

“The 270-page report entitled “The Market for Legal Cannabis Products in the 50 United States” signals Michigan and Nevada as the front runners for establishing a taxed and regulated cannabis industry within the next year, while suggesting that Indiana, Ohio and Texas will probably be three of the last states to make similar reforms.”

Michigan voters will likely support MILegalize's ballot measure to legalize a statewide cannabis trade in next year's election if the group can manage to get it on the ballot. Some of the latest polls indicate that 56 percent of the state supports putting end end to prohibition.
