This is not the first time I have written about restaurants and or bars being short staffed, good help these days is indeed hard to find. However, it is the first time I have written about a Michigan restaurant offering a $2000 dollar signing bonus to new employees.

Mallie’s Sports Grill & Bar in Southgate is offering the fat signing bonus to a full time line cook. According to MLive, Mallie's will also pay a part time cook $1000 dollars. Anyone even thinking they can hire in, get the bonus, and quit - not so fast. The signing bonuses will be paid in quarterly installments (very smart on owner Steve Mallie's part).

If the name Mallie's Sports Grill & Bar sounds familiar to you, Tony LaBrie posted a few months ago about their giant 2-pound taco. Mallie's is also in the Guinness Book of World Records for the 'World's Largest Burger' (commercially sold), weighing in at 7193 pounds. If you are not quite hungry enough for that, Mallie's also offers a 10 pound burger too.

All of the food I have seen on their Facebook page looks amazing, and owner Steve Mallie seems like a super cool guy (check out the video above). If you do apply for one of the open gigs, I hope you get it. If you are looking for something closer to home in the Genesee County of Lapeer County area, I know there are countless bars and restaurants looking to hire people too.

Did you know we hold the Guinness World Record for LARGEST BURGER?!

If you want to work at local, family owned...
