Michigan Road Worker Dies After Asphalt Truck Backs Over Him

A road construction worker died Wednesday morning after an asphalt truck accidentally backed over him in South Lyon.

According to ABC12, emergency crews attempted to resuscitate Emmanuel Gonzalez-Garcia for 30 minutes following the accident but were unsuccessful.

It's unclear exactly what happened aside from the fact that the asphalt truck backed over him. I would have to assume that it was a complete accident and neither the driver nor the victim noticed one another. I would be interested to hear more as to how this happened.

The man worked for Ajax Paving of Troy who are investigating the accident and gave their sympathies to Gonzalez-Garcia's family. You have to feel for the family of the victim and driver of the asphalt truck. Can you imagine what that person must feel like right now? Just a horrible situation overall.
