Yes! Michigan Is Getting Its First-Ever 270-Degree ScreenX Theater
Going to the movies in Michigan just got a hell of a lot cooler.
If you thought going to the movies to see something in Imax was awesome, just wait until you watch your favorite action movie on the state's first-ever 270-degree ScreenX theater. More specifically, just wait until you watch the new movie 'Twisters' on the state-of-the-art movie screen when it comes out on July 19.
Before we get too excited about this new technology coming to Michigan, we should probably explain what it is first.
What is ScreenX?
ScreenX is the world's first multi-projection theater technology. This technology provides moviegoers with a 270-degree panoramic viewing experience. ScreenX expands select sequences onto the left and right side walls of the theater, surrounding audiences with extended imagery that naturally fills your peripheral vision and provides a uniquely immersive experience.
Since the dawn of movie theaters, we've watched countless movies on one screen only...not anymore. It's truly like nothing you've experienced before.
What Movie Theater Will Have ScreenX?
Drumroll, please...If you live in the Waterford area, you'll be happy to know that MJR Theatres will be the home of Michigan's first-ever ScreenX.
The theater will be open in July, just in time for the new 'Twisters' movie. Deadpool & Wolverine can be watched on ScreenX starting July 25. You can already buy tickets for both movies.
Joel Kincaid, Vice President of Operations for MJR Theatres:
We are thrilled to bring ScreenX to our MJR Waterford Cinema location and to be the first cinema in Michigan to offer this groundbreaking technology. We can't wait for our guests to experience movies in a whole new way.
This is what it's like to watch a movie on ScreenX.
