Every year, there is a case or two that surfaces involving someone getting too stoned on marijuana and calling the cops for help. This recently happened to a young man here in the Midwest who called 911 because his high tossed him into a panic. The story goes on to make fun of the kid because when the cops showed up, he was on the floor, in the fetal position, surrounded by Doritos and other snacks.

Rather than do what this man did and risk unwanted legal troubles, it is important to learn how to tame your buzz. The most crucial element to remember when you get “too high” is that no amount of marijuana is capable of killing a person. That’s right, first-timer -- you’re not going to die…not even close.

However, a pot overdose, which is essentially consuming more than you can handle, can cause all sorts of unwanted side effects, such as paranoia and increased heart rate. At times, these things can get a bit uncomfortable.

According to a report in the British Journal of Pharmacology, there are ancient methods that can tame the effects of THC, the psychoactive compound in marijuana: Cold water and fruits with a high acidity will apparently work.

“The most accessible antidote for an overly intense reaction to THC is freshly squeezed lemon juice, with some of the peel thrown in,” according to HIGH TIMES. “If not, a peppery snack might do the trick.”

Otherwise, just give yourself some time. No need to call the police on yourself…. You’ll be fine.
