Michigan Server Who Received $10,000 Tip, Fired From Job
Earlier this week, we shared the heartwarming story of a server at the Mason Jar Cafe in Benton Harbor who received a $10,000 tip from an anonymous customer during breakfast. The generous customer asked waitress Linsey Boyd to share the money with her co-workers, and she willingly did so.
However, what initially seemed like an incredible moment for the restaurant and its employees has now turned into a nightmare for Boyd. Reports indicate that she was fired from the Mason Jar Cafe this week.

WNDU interviewed the owner, who confirmed Boyd's termination. The owner mentioned being limited in what she could disclose due to the sensitive nature of the personnel matter. While she asserted that the firing was unrelated to the tip or its aftermath, the specific reasons behind Boyd's termination are unknown.
Boyd posted about the incident but has since deactivated her Facebook page. However, a screenshot of her original post was taken and is being shared on social media.
Boyd said, "As with anything having that much attention drawn to it, an immense amount of negativity also came from this entire situation."
I won't share the image of her since-deleted post as it's not my place to do so; she obviously deleted it for a reason.
It essentially seems like there was a lot of drama, rumors, and hurt feelings.
As you can imagine, there is a lot of chatter on social media about the firing. People are posting a lot of negative comments on the restaurant's Facebook page which really doesn't seem fair. Most people are on the outside looking in and have no clue as to what happened.
