Michigan’s Most Common Fast Food Joint Isn’t McDonald’s or Taco Bell

Most Michigan residents would answer McDonald's when asked about the state's most common fast food joint. It feels like there's a McDonald's everywhere you turn. Well, it turns out there is one fast-food joint that has many more locations than the Golden Arches.

Fast-food restaurants are ubiquitous, with new ones popping up all the time. However, only a handful truly come to mind at first, including McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, and Taco Bell. While these chains have many locations throughout Michigan, there's one you may not initially think of that has more locations than all of the above.

We did some digging to find out which fast-food joint has the most locations in the state. It turns out that Michigan has only one true fast food king, and it’s not Burger King.

According to Google, Subway has well over 700 (737) locations throughout Michigan. You might think that McDonald's would be a close second, but that's not the case here. McDonald's has a lot more ground to cover if they want to take over, as there are only 545 of their locations in Michigan.

For some reason, many people don't think of Subway as a fast-food restaurant, but technically it is. In fact, Subway is the most common Subway joint in Michigan.

These location numbers change quite often as restaurants are opening and closing all the time.
