Michigan’s National Cherry Festival Returns in July
After being canceled last year, the National Cherry Festival in Traverse City is set to return this year.
Mark your calendars for July 3rd through July 10th as the National Cherry Festival in Traverse City will return. This year the National Cherry Festival will feature a mixture of both in-person and virtual events. Unfortunately the air show and concert series will not return but visitors can still expect to see the festival parades and fireworks. Details on the fireworks and parades will be announced soon.
The staff and volunteers have closely evaluated each event on the regular schedule to provide the community with events that take into consideration the health and safety of attendees and locals...In addition, the NCF is also working on relocating some other events to allow people to spread out and socially distance. These included the Arts & Crafts Show and the Old Town Car Show which will take place at the Grand Traverse Commons...per a statement from the National Cherry Festival website.
The virtual events will include events such as the Porch Parade and GT Pie Company's Virtual Make & Bake. There will also be fitness events like Zumba, Yoga, the Cherry Pie Bike Ride, and more. Visitors will also be able to enjoy the Open Space with the Food Court and Beer Tent.
The National Cherry Festival event calendar is filling up already. Starting in June, contestants can participate in video auditions for 'Cherries Got Talent.' The 'Old Town Classic Car Cruise will also take place at Turtle Creek Casino on July 2nd.
