Cabela's National Walleye Fishing Tournament will be making their first stop here in Michigan when they take over Saginaw Bay next week.

Thursday and Friday, June 14th and 15th over 200 mixed level fisherman will be taking their talents to the shores of Saginaw Bay competing for the pro-angler and co-angler titles with cash and prizes up for grabs. Boats will be launching out of Bay City's Veterans Memorial Park both days starting at 6 a.m.

The area will also see an economic boost from the tournament being held with many hotels and restaurants expecting more business with spectators and anglers being in town.

Along with the tournament, there will be a kids clinic on how to catch fish and boat safety being held at the park on Friday at 5:30 p.m. put on by the National Professional Anglers Association. Kids will receive a free t-shirt and a rod and reel. Sounds like a great family event to attend and start Father's Day Weekend off for those who enjoy fishing.
