Why type out how you feel when you can send an emoji?

Emojis communicate a universal language. The eggplant emoji, for instance, universally signifies a certain meaning - and it is not an actual eggplant.

Could the root vegetable emoji become the new eggplant emoji? Probably not, but the root vegetable emoji is one of eight new emojis that will soon be available on your smartphone.

There will also be a new fingerprint emoji and a new shovel emoji. I would think twice before sending those two images together. Think about it, a shovel and a fingerprint, that sure screams murder to me.

The emoji that is generating the most excitement online is the under-eye circles face emoji. This emoji accurately depicts the tiredness many people feel. I have a feeling I'll be using this emoji quite often.

The final newly announced emojis include a splatter (yep, a splatter),  a harp, a tree, and a new flag.

Without further ado, check out the new emojis for yourself.

What do you think? Do you have an immediate favorite? Also, what exactly does splatter (pictured above in purple) mean?

Emojipedia describes the splatter emoji as follows,

A chaotic splash of an unknown liquid, possibly thick or viscous like paint or blood.

I would think twice about using the splatter emoji with the shovel and fingerprint emojis too.

The new emojis will hit devices in the next few months and throughout the new year.
