Bar Louie Tavern and Grill in Flint Township closed its doors in January 2020. Since then, the former restaurant has been vacant and word on the street is a national chain restaurant will soon be moving in.

A secret source has confirmed this - but no word as to what exact chain will occupy the building in the Outdoor Village area of Genesee Valley Center. You may remember that area also housed Wahlburgers and Mo Pete's Bar & Grill - both have since closed too.

I can't help but wonder if this new business will have the same unfortunate fate. Obviously, it will depend on what precisely the new place is. Will it be the home of a chain restaurant we already have in Michigan, or will it be something new to the state, or the area? So many questions, but not enough answers as of now.

What would you like to see open up at this location? I did Google popular chain restaurants, and here are a few of the results according to Ranker,

  • Chili's (already have one on Miller Road)
  • Longhorn Steakhouse
  • Red Robin (already have one on Miller Road)
  • Red Lobster (already have one on Pierson Road)
  • Olive Garden (already have one on Miller Road)
  • Outback Steakhouse (already have one Miller Road)
  • Dave & Busters
  • Uno Chicago Grill
  • Applebee's (already have one on Miller Road)

As you can see, Genesee County has a majority of the most popular chain restaurants. I will definitely keep you posted when my secret source reveals additional information. Here's to hoping that happens soon.

In the meantime, what do you think the new spot might be?
