Nicole Kidman’s New Michigan-Based Thriller Starts Streaming in March
Holland, Michigan, is usually all about tulips and charming small-town vibes, but things are about to get much darker.
Nicole Kidman has a new movie coming to Prime Video, one that brings a darker side to Holland, Michigan. Holland follows her character, Nancy Vandergroot, a teacher, wife, and mom whose perfect little life starts to fall apart when she begins to suspect her husband is a serial killer.
Even though the movie is a dark unpredictable thriller, director Mimi Cave told PEOPLE, "There's an odd sort of offbeat humor about it that we're hoping people get and enjoy."
While the movie is set in Holland, it wasn't entirely filmed there. Some of it was filmed at Windmill Island, the only authentic Dutch windmill operating in the United States, but the majority was shot in Tennessee. According to WOOD TV, the town of Clarksville, Tennessee, was redecorated to look like downtown Holland during Tulip Time. I know, kind of a letdown.
Holland, Michigan, sits on the shores of Lake Michigan and is best known for its Dutch heritage, iconic windmills, and the annual Tulip Time Festival that brings in thousands of tourists every spring. While it’s usually all about small-town charm, the new movie Holland is going to show a much darker side of it.
