Former NIN Member Is Now A U of M Professor
The University of Michigan has announced that former Nine Inch Nails member, Chris Vrenna, will join the Department of Performing Arts Technology as an assistant professor in the fall of 2024.
Vrenna is an original member of Nine Inch Nails and played drums in the band from 1988 until 1996. You may also know him from his work with Marilyn Manson from 2004 to 2011.
The talented musician had this to say about his new position at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor,
'It is both exciting and humbling to be joining the renowned faculty at the University of Michigan as an assistant professor of music in the PAT department.
My father is a Michigan alumnus. He and I would spend Saturday afternoons watching Michigan football, so I grew up a Wolverines fan.
This opportunity to become a professor at Michigan and move to Ann Arbor feels like a homecoming for me.'
According to a University of Michigan press release, Chris Vrenna has quite the resume. Vernna held positions at Southern Utah University, Athens State University, Calhoun College, the University of Alabama, and the Madison Media Institute.
The news of such a talented person joining the University of Michigan staff has created a big buzz. Professor Vrenna is just as excited,
'I cannot wait for the fall semester to start, and I am looking forward to meeting the faculty, staff, and students in August,” said Vrenna. Go Blue.'
