Police Cracking Down on Drunk Driving Ahead of Labor Day
Labor Day weekend is only a couple weeks away and like most holidays, there's a good chance some people will make the bad decision of getting behind the wheel while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
According to ABC12, law enforcement from 90 agencies in Michigan are encouraging drivers to celebrate the end of summer safely with smart decisions.
In preparation, the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign will kick off tomorrow (Wednesday) and will run through Sept. 2. During the two-week campaign, drivers will obviously see a much heavier police presence on the roads.
The smart thing to do is play it safe by getting a designated driver, Uber or Lyft driver, or simply don't drink if you know you have to drive. The good thing is there are options, you just have to take advantage of them.
This advice should be used year-round, not just during the holidays. Party on and be safe!
