Growing up as a kid, one of my favorite things about getting together with my family was playing board and card games.

When I was younger I used to play Sequence with my grandma. She used to always win, but as time went on I was able to finally able to show her who was boss.

Now that I'm married, around the holidays when my wife's siblings get together we all like to play Phase 10. It's a really fun card game, but we tend to get really competitive and a little cutthroat. We often find ourselves yelling at someone who lays down a card on accident that ends up helping someone else get the phase or win the game.

Being born and raised in Michigan I know there are a few games Michiganders like to play and if you don't quickly learn how to play them you will become an embarrassment to your family and ostracized by friends and foes alike. Some of those games include.
