Proof of Vaccination for Travel, Concerts, and More Could Become Reality
The COVID vaccine is finally out and is being distributed around the country to essential workers and the elderly. For whatever reason, there's still a lot of people that refuse or are still on the fence when it comes to getting vaccinated. They may have to rethink their stance if they want to have any fun at all in 2021.
When it comes to travel, going to the movies, concerts or sporting events, it may not be as simple as showing your ticket to get in. There's a chance you may have to show proof of vaccination before you can enter certain establishments.
According to WNEM, several companies and technology groups have begun developing smartphone apps or systems for individuals to upload details of their Covid-19 tests and vaccinations, creating digital credentials that could be shown in order to enter concert venues, stadiums, movie theaters, offices, or even countries.
So basically you'd have an app on your phone that would allow you to upload medical information like Covid-19 test results or, eventually, a proof of vaccination by a medical professional. You would then get a QR code that you could show when travelling or wherever proof of vaccination was required.
None of this is set in stone yet but I'm sure this is the road we'll end up going down. So I guess if you want to be able to go anywhere next year, you're going to have to get the vaccine whether you want to or not.
