Rob Zombie To Direct Motley Crue Biopic “The Dirt”?
Zombie recently shot down hopes of a White Zombie reunion and has been taking time off from recording to prepare his next movie Lords of Salem. Now it's rumored that he has another movie in his queue.
According to SleazeRoxx.com Rob Zombie has reportedly signed on to direct the movie based on the Motley Crue memoir The Dirt. The movie will recount the craziness of the bands heyday in the 80's and 90's. Tommy Lee is excited about the film and told Billboard:
"That would be a cool place to release some new music. It gives new reason for new music. People aren't really buying records these days, so it seems like a good place to maybe put something new from us."
Although they don't sell like they used to, people still buy records Tommy (just not yours).
This film has been discussed for a while now but the only casting rumor I've heard thus far is Christopher Walken was being considered to appear as Ozzy Osbourne (terrible choice). Rob Zombie is traditionally known as a horror writer/director with films like The Devil's Rejects, the Halloween remakes, and House of 1000 Corpses under his belt. This will be more of a party movie unless he decides to include a current-time story line. Things could get real scary if he shows you the crypt keeper-like Mick Mars, Vince Neil's driving and plastic surgery face, and makes you listen to their last album. AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
