8 Killer Rock Concerts That You Can See in Sterling Heights This Summer/Fall
I feel like concerts at the Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre in Sterling Heights sometimes get overlooked every summer due to the heavy push on shows that are coming to Pine Knob. I think some people forget about this awesome venue.
The Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill in Sterling Heights is a great venue that's been around for a really long time. It was officially renamed the Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill after a $900,000 naming rights agreement with the Michigan Lottery in 2016. Prior to the name change, the amphitheatre was called the Jerome-Duncan Ford Theatre at Freedom Hill.
The Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre is an outdoor concert venue that has a covered pavilion and lawn section. It's basically a smaller version of Pine Knob. As a matter of fact, the venue has a capacity of just over 7,000. That's roughly half of what Pine Knob can accommodate. Honestly, it's the perfect size venue for seeing concerts.
You won't find a ton of rock concerts at the Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill this year, but what they've got lined up so far is pretty solid.
The Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill is located at 14900 Metro Parkway. It's just 3 ½ miles east of Van Dyke (M-53) in Sterling Heights. Just keep in mind that that Metropolitan Parkway is also known as 16 Mile or Big Beaver Rd.
Whether it's hard rock, pop rock, or classic rock, the Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre has a little something for everyone this summer.
