Saginaw Student Found With Gun in Backpack
It was a scary day for parents and students at a private school in Saginaw after a gun was found in a students backpack.
According to WNEM, the incident took place on Thursday, Oct. 20 at Francis Reh Academy on Owen Street in Saginaw.
A student had apparently told school officials that they went to grab a pencil out of another student's backpack when they noticed a gun instead.
Without hesitation, the backpack was confiscated and police arrested the student.
The school has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to weapons. The consequences of bringing a weapon to campus results in immediate notification of authorities and student expulsion.
The good news was that no one was ever threatened and no one was hurt.
