For those of you itching to play in some mud and hit some trails, Silver Lake State Park is set to open the ORV area in June.

Coming up on June 13th, off-road vehicles can hit the trails yet again. Silver Lake State Park will be opening the ORV area at the state park this month. The ORV area was supposed to open earlier but has since been pushed back for a couple of reasons.

The first reason is to be able to coincide with the end of the safer-at-home order, which is set to end on June 12th. Second, it allows time for the integration of COVID-19 public health and safety guidelines. Finally, the extra time allows for more construction on the dune entrance ramp project. I am so glad to see things like this opening back up. Many people are itching to get back outside in Michigan. We all know that Michigan is one of the best, if not the best, states to be outdoors in. From lakes to rivers, campgrounds, and more, Michigan has it all.

Camping is another great activity and I'm counting down to my first camping trip this weekend. On Sunday, I'll be heading up to Big Bend Campground to do a little magnet fishing and just get off the grid. I just bought myself a brand new tent and enough food and beer to keep myself fat and happy for a few days. Just me and the quiet outdoors. I can't wait.
