Solar Farm Project in Shiawassee County Has 250 Job Openings
If you are looking for a job right now, a huge solar farm project on the western border of Genesee County is looking to hire 250 people.
McCarthy Building Companies is a contractor on the 1,200-acre project and is expecting to hire around 250 people. The jobs will start out at $15 per hour. Along with filling out an application (which you can do here), you can also attend their job fair on February 11th from 1 pm until 3 pm at the Genesee Shiawassee Thumb Michigan Works office in Owosso.
As the Assembly Solar Project gets started they will be looking for general laborers, pile drivers, operator/forklift drivers, and survey/layout. This is said to be the largest renewable energy facility ever in Michigan and will be built on agricultural land. Once completed, the new solar power plant will be able to generate up to 239 megawatts of power. Get all the details here.
